My favorite summer treat is definitely a Green Smoothie! It satisfies my sweet tooth and helps me fit more fruit and vegetables into my diet!

I’m just starting to experiment with different smoothie recipes, especially ones with vegetables in them, but this one is already a household favorite and is one I make a few times a week. We own both the Ninja blender as well as the Vitamix blender, but I seem to reach for the Ninja a lot more, especially when making single serving smoothies. The ninja comes with two 16 ounce to go cups that you can blend your smoothie in and take it out the door! These cups also allow you to make smaller portions more easily which is why I prefer it!

The key to this smoothie recipe is to blend the spinach and choice of liquid together first. This helps prevent chunky pieces of spinach and it helps blend everything together more easily. I use coconut water as my liquid of choice for this recipe, but you can use regular water or even your favorite type of milk! I also add in my favorite collagen powder to help thicken the smoothie and I find it to be the easiest way to fit it into my diet! I prefer the vital proteins collagen (you can usually find it in most grocery stores. I buy mine from Costco) but any collagen powder or protein powder can easily be added to your smoothies.
